Stainless Steel Super Fine Wire Mesh For Screen Printing
Screen Printing is a printing technique that uses woven wire mesh to transfer ink onto the substrate board. A blade or squeegee is moved across the screen to fill the openings of the mesh with ink or paste. A stencil will block parts of the openings of the mesh to create a design on the surface being printed on.
At the beginning, fine silk screens were used for screen printing. But the silk mesh was soft and not strong enough, and very easy to be swelled up and torn out. This is the main problem, if use the silk mesh for screen printing, it could not hold up.
Nowadays, the most commonly used media for screen printing are stainless steel fine woven wire mesh, polyester, and nylon wire mesh. They have heavier tensile strength and could be used longer time than silk mesh. So the silk mesh for screen printing is less and less.
